Art Challenge Day

Our annual Art Challenge Day took place on the 24th September. Thirty five accountants from the firm Kingston Smith LLP came to Duncombe for the day to work with the children in Years 3-5.
The challenge for the children this year was to design and screen print their very own T-shirt. Inspired by the work of the Pop artist Keith Haring, the children produced amazing T-shirts and had fun working alongside so many enthusiastic adult helpers.
Mike Sinclair has thanked Duncombe for such a good day: "My group thoroughly enjoyed working with the children in such an interactive way. The children were well behaved and happy which is a credit to the staff, the school and themselves. "
The screen printed T-shirts have now been put on display at the Annual Art Exhibition at Laycock Professional Development Centre. Also on display here is wonderful artwork produced by members of the Adult Art Class and Staff Art Class at Duncombe. Their work includes ceramics, oil paintings and screen prints.
